The 2nd Amendment

Yes, without
exception.

All 20,000 of them.

6) Do you support the right for people to act as they wish in a private setting, with other consenting adults?
Yes.
7) Would you support the banning of some firearms? (I.E.: Saturday night specials and "assault weapons") Why and to what extent?
No.
To support any such ban would require that we entrust government to define
specific categories of firearms. I do not trust
them with
such a charge.
8) In July 2000 the Police Dept. of Attleboro Massachusetts entered a private party without a search warrant. The party was not open to the public or in the business to make a profit. Any donations given were used to pay rent. When the police entered, they arrested two people. The first person who was arrested organized the event. The second person arrested was arrested because she spanked her consenting adult partner with a wooden spoon. Do you support the actions of the Attleboro police as given in this example? Why?
In terms of the arrests, I do not support the actions of the police. In terms of their going to the event, there is not enough information given. For instance, if they were responding to a legitimate complaint for noise, indecent public displays, traffic problems affecting the public thoroughfare etc, the police cannot be vilified for doing their duty.
When supplied with more information regarding the incident he replied:
Based upon your further explaination, that the
police were not responding to a call, they acted wrongly and had no legitimate
reason to inject themselves uninvited and without a warrant, into the scene.
Further, I do not believe there is any legitimate or legal reason for police
(or any other agency) to intercede in the consensual acts between adults.
9) Do you believe that firearms and/or firearm owners should be registered? Which ones and why?
Absolutely not. None. Historical precedence
and no reason for such a list, it can only mean trouble.
10) Would you support the banning and/or regulation of ammunition; or of some types of ammunition? (I.E.: Hollow points, "Safety Slugs", etc.) Why?
No. Any firearms the military has should
be available to all Citizens as a militia extension to back up regular
troops should the need arise.
Do you have an additional statement to make that is not covered by this questionnaire? Use as much space as you wish.
Unrestricted, and unregistered firearm ownership
is a Right, not an option. The 2nd Amendments' intent was to give
an avenue to protect ALL other Rights. It is a fundamental foundation
that cannot be disturbed.
As always, I remain at your service--
Barry J. Hess
