1) Do you believe that the 2nd Amendment confers rights to individuals or to the Militia / Military?
I believe that the second amendment confers rights
to both individuals and to the militia.
2) Do you support equal rights for all citizens of the United States regardless of the person's sexuality?
Yes
3) If elected would you support legislation for the removal of firearm laws and regulations? Why and to what extent?
Yes I would. The only laws I would keep
are those laws which restrict firearm ownership or possession from people
convicted of violent felonies where a weapon was used in the commission
of the crime.
4) Which of the following would you be willing to
support in regards to same-gender and/or polyamarous marriages and/or civil
unions?
Check as many as apply:
[ ] Domestic
partnerships for same-sex couples
[ ] Domestic
partnerships for opposite-sex couples
[ ] Domestic
partnerships for polyamarous (more than two consenting adults)
[ ] Same-sex
marriages
[ ] Opposite
sex marriages (What we have now)
[ ] Polyamarous
marriages (between more than two consenting adults)
[X]
All of the above. Everyone should have equal rights under the law.
[ ]
None of the above. Government has no role in defining a marriage.
Leave it to the church.

NOTE: I believe that government has no role
in defining a marriage, but as long as marriage continues to be a contract
that requires government recognition, then I would not restrict the right
to enter such a contract.
5) What do you consider are "legitimate" reasons to
own a firearm?
Check as many as apply:
[ ]
Personal Defence
[ ]
Home Defence
[ ]
Hunting
[ ]
Farm Use
[ ]
Competitive Shooting
[ ]
Informal Sport Shooting
[ ]
Informal Target Practice and/or Plinking

6) Do you support the right for people to act as they wish in a private setting, with other consenting adults?
Yes, so long as all activities are done among
adults and with full consent given by all parties..
7) Would you support the banning of some firearms? (IE: Saturday night specials and "assault weapons") Why and to what extent?
No, I would not support any such bans. I
would only require that firearms operate as advertised and meet strict
standards of product liability. (I.E., Guns should be properly tested
for misfiring by the manufacturer).
8) In July 2000 the Police Dept. of Attleboro Massachusetts entered a private party without a search warrant. The party was not open to the public or in the business to make a profit. Any donations given were used to pay rent. When the police entered, they arrested two people. The first person who was arrested organized the event. The second person arrested was arrested because she spanked her consenting adult partner with a wooden spoon. Do you support the actions of the Attleboro police as given in this example? Why?
Absolutely not! I condemn this action because
not only did the police violate these citizens' rights to engage in consensual
behavior, but especially because in the process they violated the fourth
amendment to the United States Constitution and Article Fourteen of the
Massachusetts Declaration of Rights, both of which protect citizens from
unreasonable searches without a warrant..
9) Do you believe that firearms and/or firearm owners should be registered? Which ones and why?
No, because registration is the first step toward
confiscation.
10) Would you support the banning and/or regulation of ammunition; or of some types of ammunition? (IE: Hollow points, "Safety Slugs", etc.) Why?
I would not ban or regulate any ammunition as
long as the ammunition acts as it is intended by the manufacturer and reasonably
expected by the purchaser. (And if the ammunition is faulty then a product
liability suit should be brought be the injured party against the manufacturer.)
Do you have an additional statement to make that is not covered by this questionnaire? Use as much space as you wish.
I oppose gun control on many grounds. It is sexist, for it prevents women from protecting themselves against physically stronger attackers. It is racist, for it prevents lower income citizens in the inner cities (who are typically of a minority race) from protecting themselves against violent thugs because citizens who are disarmed are easy prey for the violent criminals who have no fear of a victim who will fire back. One need look no farther than Washington D.C., where there is an absolute ban on handgun ownership and as a result there is also the highest murder rate of any city in the United States..
And most of all, the founding fathers anticipated attemptes by the Government to register, restrict, and ultimately confiscate firearms -- and that is why they ratified the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution. Countries with the most successful gun control measures in the history of the world include: Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union, and the Peoples Republic of China. Many in the United States Government want such a totalitarian power over the people, and they play off the emotions of the people about the horrors of gun violence while deceiving them about the succcess of gun control measures in stopping violent crime.
When the citizens hear the truth about the effects
of gun control on violent crime and our civil liberties, they are dismayed
at the lies perpetrated by the government which is charged with protecting
us from itself as well as violent criminals. This is why, as a Libertarian,
I urge all citizens to read as much about this issue as possible.
