Office you are running for: U.S. Senate

State: Massachusetts

District: Massachusetts

1) Do you believe that the 2nd Amendment confers rights to individuals or only to the Militia / Military?

To individuals.

2) Do you support equal rights for all citizens of the United States regardless of the person's sexuality?

I support individual liberty and full personal responsibility for every human being.

3) If elected would you support legislation for the removal of firearm laws and regulations?  Why and to what extent?

Yes. Carla Howell is a 100% pro-gun candidate. U.S. Senator Carla Howell will vote to repeal the Brady Bill, the Assault Weapons Ban, and over 22,000 federal anti-gun laws that serve to infringe our right to keep and bear arms. Gun Prohibition laws disarm women, the elderly, the frail, and others who have no other means to protect themselves. Ted Kennedy wants to go back to Washington D.C. to write new laws. Carla Howell will go to Washington D.C. with an ERASER.

4)    Which of the following would you be willing to support in regards to
same-gender and/or polyamarous marriages and/or civil unions?
    Check as many as apply:
        [ ]    Domestic partnerships for same-sex couples
        [ ]    Domestic partnerships for opposite-sex couples
[ ]    Domestic partnerships for polyamarous (more than two consenting adults)
        [ ]    Same-sex marriages
[ ]    Opposite sex marriages (What we have now)
[ ]    Polyamarous marriages (between more than two consenting adults)
[ ]    All of the above.  Everyone should have equal rights under the law.
[ ]    None of the above.  Government has no role in defining a marriage.  Leave it to the church.
        [X]    Other
Government should have no say in the relationships of consenting adults. All adults should be treated equally under the law. As a politician, it's not my job to condone nor condemn any particular lifestyle. That is not a proper role of government nor its representatives. Individuals should be free to choose their own moral values and their own moral leadership.

5)    What do you consider are "legitimate" reasons to own a firearm?
    Check as many as apply:
         [ ]    Personal Defense
         [ ]    Home Defense
         [ ]    Hunting
         [ ]    Farm Use
         [ ]    Competitive Shooting
         [ ]    Informal Sport Shooting
         [ ]    Informal Target Practice and/or Plinking
         [ ]    Collecting
         [ ]    Constitutional Rights
         [X]    Other __________________________________
         []    All of the above
[ ]    None of the above
Government has no authority to determine what is or is not a "legitimate" reason to own a firearm. Libertarians believe that any individual can choose any reason they wish to own a weapon of self-defense.

6)    Do you support the right for people to act as they wish in a private setting, with other consenting adults?

Yes.

7)    Would you support the banning of some firearms?  (IE:  Saturday night specials and "assault weapons")  Why and to what extent?

No. Government has no authority to ban anything that can be used for self-defense. Banninng certain "dangerous" weapons is an example of Piecemeal Gun Prohibition. This is the Big Government strategy for disarming Americans: divide and conquer. These anti-gun laws don't work and are a means to propose even worse anti-gun laws that serve only to endanger peaceful, honest Americans.

8)    In July 2000 the Police Dept. of Attleboro Massachusetts entered a private party without a search warrant.  The party was not open to the public or in the business to make a profit. Any donations given were used to pay rent.  When the police entered, they arrested two people.  The first person who was arrested organized the event.  The second person arrested was arrested because she spanked her consenting adult partner with a wooden spoon.  Do you support the actions of the Attleboro police as given in this example?  Why?

No. Police should use taxpayer resources to go after child molesters, rapists, murderers, and thieves - not to intervene in the private affairs of consenting adults.

9)    Do you believe that firearms and/or firearm owners should be registered?  Which ones and why?

No. This is just one more example of Piecemeal Gun Prohibition.

10)   Would you support the banning and/or regulation of ammunition; or of some types of ammunition?  (IE:  Hollow points, "Safety Slugs", etc.)  Why?

No. This is yet another example Piecemeal Gun Prohibition
.
Do you have an additional statement to make that is not covered by this
questionnaire?  Use as much space as you wish.

Please vote Carla Howell for U.S. Senate because small government is
beautiful - and it leaves our guns alone!
