If your answer is yes, and if you are elected, what specific legislation would you propose/support to ensure that this individual right is protected? Which current laws which infringe upon this individual right would you seek to repeal?
Removal of all existing firearms regs which limit the issuing of permits on a 'shall issue' basis. Discretionary power should not be left to individual police chiefs.

No.

5) Do you believe that firearms and/or firearm owners should be registered? Which ones and why?
Yes, for the same reason that cars are registered. I believe transparency is the greatest safegard to our civil liberties. Among other things, this would make licenses which are valid in one state, equally valid in all states and enable a licensed gun owner to carry when traveling between states, a definite improvement over the current system.
I received my firearms training in Israel from the police. In Israel, both gun-owners and guns are licensed and all gun-owners must visit the range four times a year and fire a certain minimum number of rounds each year. Responsible gun ownership is a given in Israel, in part, I believe, because of these requirements.
