Pink Pistols Mailing Lists

Please review all rules listed below for all Pink Pistols mailing lists. All mailing lists are run on the Honor System -- if you subscribe to one of our lists, we assume that you have read these rules, and that you have decided you will abide by them. Conversely, we assume that if you had found any personal problem with these rules, you would have declined to join the mailing lists, rather than compromise your sense of personal honor and ethics by entering into an agreement you had no intention of keeping.

It is NOT NECESSARY to join the mailing lists to be a member of the Pink Pistols! The mailing lists do not define the organization, they are simply a communication tool for the convenience of the members, and the decision to join or not join a mailing list -- or your moderation or banning therefrom for violation of the rules-- in no way affects your membership status in the Pink Pistols unless expressly stated by Pink Pistols National.

These rules, as stated here, are the *FINAL WORD* in all disputes regarding list rules for Pink Pistols mailing lists, and all subscribers are expected to have read them and to agree to them as a condition to subscribing. It is understood that if you argue about the "fairness" of the rules later, after subscribing, you may be summarily removed from the lists for being an honorless slug.

Moderators on ALL National lists: Doug Krick, Gwen Patton, Jarrett Grace, and Al Lowe.

"No moderation" means there is no set topic. We WILL, however, notice if you are savaging each other and ask you to knock it off, because we don't like having our lists associated with unnecessary roughness. Unmoderated does not mean utter anarchy. We expect you to be nice to one another, and at least try to get along. If you don't know what we expect, ask.

• The list topic is the self-defense of the sexual-minority community with firearms, the primary mission of the Pink Pistols. Discussions must be topical issues of interest to Pink Pistols nationally.
• Do not forward emails, notices, or news items from other lists here. Target these to specific sub-lists: Events, Chat, or Politics.
• NO cross-posting to this list and PP-politics or PP-Chat. If it belongs on either of those lists, it by definition does not belong on the main list.
• Events may be cross-posted between PP-Events and the main list.
• No flamebait or trolling allowed. Ignore flames -- moderators will handle them. Trolls may be kickbanned without warning.
• Please take arguments off-list.

• Use this list to announce Pink Pistols chapter events or Pink Pistols events of national interest.
• Non-Pink Pistols organizations who wish to post events should send them offlist to the list owners or to a moderator for posting. Abuse of this rule is grounds for removal.
• You may cross-post events to the main list.
• Cross-posting between your local list and the events list is perfectly acceptable, but cross-posting between ALL of the local lists would be excessive. Post to the events list instead -- that's why we have one. Cross-posting an event or news item to ALL PP lists is abusive, and will get you banned from them.

• This list is for discussions of a political nature.
• Do not cross-post between this list and the main list.
• Keep discussions civilized. If you wish to argue or flame, take it off-list.
• Forwards and interesting news articles from other lists maybe posted here, but deliberate or obvious flamebaiting is frowned upon.
• Do not "dump and run" -- join the group simply to spam the group with your latest political news, then leave. Those who abusively dump news articles or other posts into the list without engaging in discussion will be asked nicely to stop, then will be removed if they continue. (Reason: There are websites and RSS feeds that serve this purpose.)
• Discussions of protests or other political actions are encouraged on this list!
• Trolls may be kickbanned without warning.
• Please take arguments off-list.

• Use this list to announce or discuss official Pink Pistols press releases at the National or Local level
• Cross-posting between your local list and the events list is perfectly acceptable, but cross-posting between ALL of the local lists would be excessive. Post to the events list instead -- that's why we have one. Cross-posting an event or news item to ALL PP lists is abusive, and will get you banned from them.
• We hope that members will frequent the Events list, and the press will watch the PR list. Use the PR list for official statements of your chapters reactions to current events, upcoming activities, and political action of note that you hope will be picked up by the press.
• SPAM in this list is strictly forbidden, and will be judged harshly and removed with extreme prejudice. We would greatly prefer that this list be reserved for Pink Pistols press releases and discussions thereof.
