Stereotype Busters

This category deserves a bit of explanation. The stereotypical gun owner is a white male, over 40, with conservative viewpoints. Here are some gun owners who don't quite fit that mold.

AWARE
Arming Women Against Rape and Endangerment is what it stands for. One of the oldest groups that I know of among the women-oriented firearms organizations, AWARE focuses on self defense and training. Political action is secondary to their training mission.

Women Against Gun Control
Self defense is a women's political issue. WAGC's specialty is political action.

Second Amendment Sisters,Inc
This group made headlines as the primary organizer behind the counter-demonstration against the Far-Less-Than-A-Million Mom March.

Mothers Arms
Politicians going after the "Soccer Mom" vote need to meet these moms.

The Liberty Belles
A lovely group of ladies, who are not afraid to shoot big bad guns chambered for the 50 caliber browning heavy machine gun. No not the machine guns themselves, but I’m certain the ladies would love to shoot them also. Now that California has classified guns chambered for the 50 BMG as assault weapons, the lovely ladies will never be able to own one in California. To my knowledge not one crime has been committed with one

A blackman with a gun
The title says it all (though I'll wager he has more than one gun).

Geeks With Guns
Those hairy, T-shirt wearing, impatient guys with taped glasses who keep your web site, network, database, mail server, and ISP running really need some good, clean, noisy fun. They need the stress relief lest they become the dreaded BOFH. Being as how these guys are armed to the teeth, the lusers simply stay out of their way.
