Doug Krick ran for State Representative in the year 2000 elections.  His candidacy was announced in January 1999.

According to the article State Senator Cheryl Jacques states, “All I know is that the law that I was the chief senate sponsor of doesn't stop any lawful citizen ... who feel[s] they need a handgun to protect themselves.”  I [Doug Krick] can testify that this is not true, as I was just denied a permit from the Boston Police Department.  The reason given?  I do not have a “proper purpose”.  (I applied forself-defense and sporting use)
